Journal Cover

Hi guys!! I have been very busy being creative! I managed to create a journal cover for my book, which I love! The cover I made is removable so I can change it whenever. I think it would be cool to have different covers for each mood I am in! I made it using little fabric scraps I found in my drawer. All the pieces I found were odd shapes and off-cuts, and I think they look really cool sewn together! Here it is:
This is such an improvement from before. The book I use as a journal is an old Harry Potter blank notebook which I got when I was about 11! It is dark green and has a picture of Hedwig on the front, which may be nostalgic, but wasn't really arty! This new cover is girly and feminine and crafty and creative, just like me :)
I use a piece of elastic ribbon to tie it together when not in use, all my pages don't seem to lie flat! :P

Here is a close up of the front cover. I cut these flowers from another piece of fabric I found and glued them on. They match the colours perfect! I also added some little beads around the cover.
Here is the back. It is plain but I embroidered my name on it so it can be clearly seen, as so people know it is mine! I used stem stitch for this.
Here is the inside of the cover. Once again, I embroidered 'Private' with Stem stitch in a little box shape.
This is what the reader would see first when they open my book, it tells them to keep out politely! :D
Here are some more photos:

The actual cover is a bit of a tight squeeze to get on, but it means it doesnt fall off or flop much when the journal is open. I think, though, that next time I will have to measure precisely if I were to make another one!
I hope to complete more journal pages soon! How are your projects going?
Katie xoxo
