Guest post from Design Shuffle

Hi, all! I'm Mari here from Design Shuffle, a fantastic online community where interior designers show their work and design enthusiasts can find interior design inspiration and decorating ideas.  As part of my job, I often get to visit lovely blogs like Sugarpatch to share some of the great spaces I've discovered around the web. Today's guest post is about pretty white interior spaces because Katie says she loves the colour white and so do I. For her (and for your inspiration too) here are eight appealing rooms done in layers of white. Please enjoy!

White Spaces

A quirky eclectic vignette raises many questions about this white room and those who live here. What's with the bicycle? What's the story behind the choice of decorative objects? I love the look, especially the white painted floor topped with a white woven rug.

A tiny space becomes a cozy retreat in this bedroom design is a cozy retreat behind pretty French doors in this white on white vintage apartment. Wouldn't you love to see the rest of such an intriguing space?

A light-filled corner for study or work is brightened by potted greenery. The whitewashed floor is beautiful and again a white rug adds warmth underfoot without sacrificing the pure white look.

I think this is my favorite of our eight spaces, though it's hard to choose just one. I love the sleek table, long sideboard and hanging lantern light in lovely contrast to the vintage architecture and chairs.

This pretty white bath shows off metallic details in silvery claw feet on the tub, fixtures, chandelier and tile. I love the potted cacti and the line of dinosaurs trekking across the window sill.

This is a fascinating eclectic space, filled with lovely interior design ideas. Wouldn't you love to know the history behind each of the well-loved objects and furniture pieces seen here?

This French farmhouse bedroom in pretty white tones and antique furniture surprises us with its contemporary ceiling light fixture. Green living topiaries are a refreshing addition to the space.

Now to a very fresh contemporary vignette with layers of gorgeous white texture in the bedding, pillows, lace curtain panel and stunning Juju hat. As you can see white on white palettes are not limited to any particular style or setting. What's not to love about decorating with the colour white? We hope you'll have fun creating your own pretty white spaces.

  1. I love all of these. Our bedroom is white walls, white floorboards and white furniture and it's such a relaxing and calming space. We've just painted the living room green and I've finally convinced my other half to let me paint the floorboards in there white too; I think that will look lovely! Love the photo with all the house plants, I really like having plants indoors, gives a room a bit of life! X

  2. These are all so stunning, I'm not sure I could live in an all white space, I quite enjoy clutter but they are certainly beautiful on the eye.

  3. White spaces are really cool, makes everything so clean and you can do so much with it, but I like when the walls have light pastel colors, white is a little too clean for me haha.

  5. Ahh it's amazing how a single color can be used to create so many different environments and spaces. It's so simple, but it's not.
