Deck the halls

I have been rather behind on blogging this year. Christmas is my favourite time for crafts and DIYs and ideas, so I'm rather disappointed I haven't gone all out! This has actually been the first year of working full time (what with uni and part time work before) so I shall be using that as my excuse. And even sadder, I don't feel that festive! I'm usually the first person to start the Christmas CDs and feel christmassy on December 1st, but alas this year I am not. Again, I am blaming a busy period at work but I'll be sure to make up for it tomorrow. Once I've done the half day I shall be donning my christmas jumper, turning up the christmas CD and driving home for Christmas.

I didn't want to go the year without doing a rambly Christmas post that I usually do. So here we are.
I made a gingerbread house the other week which was rather delicious although being a perfectionist, I felt like I could've done better! Needless to say it was delicious and also destroyed with a hammer after it went soft - it was a big house and we are only 2 people. Also, I didn't have a tupperware big enough - baker error right there.

We put up the little christmas tree in the flat but Graham's gone home to Kent now and I'll be off to my parents tomorrow after work. I think once I get home and see my Mum's usual amazing decorations I shall feel very Christmassy indeed. I've got to load up the car with presents but I can't wait to chill out tomorrow and play a few classic board games with my sister!

2013 has been a good year, after a weak start but I'm feeling settled and content. I'll probably write my usual list of resolutions for 2014 and what not but knowing my blogging habits, it might be the end of January! I'll add that to the list now - blog more!

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and we'll catch up in the new year xo

  1. Your gingerbread house looks amazing! I really wanted to try my hand at one this year but haven't got round to it. I did make some decoupaged decorations and snow globes though :)
Hope you have a lovely Christmas! x

  2. I know what you mean about not feeling festive, when I was working in retail and worked every day except for Christmas Day, I didn't feel all that festive until I got home to my family and the decorations and food were all there waiting! That gingerbread house looks delicious, I could never master anything like that! Have a wonderful Christmas x
