Kitchen love list

home_interiors_kitchen_UK_lifestyle_blog

With payday tomorrow, I thought I'd post a love list of some beautiful things to tempt me (and you) even more. This one is kitchen based - I spend far too much time shut away in that room and, luckily for Graham, emerge with dinner or better yet, some delicious cakes.

Wednesday night, I decided to relax after work and decided to bake. I'd made chocolate chip banana muffins and in truth, these were more chocolate than banana! Very tasty though, and I'll leave the recipe with you below.

It's very simple, more of one of those chuck it all in and give it a mix recipes that make it perfect to do of an evening. I'm all for perfect decoration and pristine icing, but sometimes the occasion just calls for a simple tasty snack. Back to the collage - I think a kitchen should be full of colour and right now I'm lusting after the pistachio coloured Kitchen Aid mixer. KitchenAid is one of those brands I'm sure you've all heard of and like me, long to fill your kitchen with. Along with some fresh daffodils and some rather cute oven gloves, your kitchen is going to be perfect for spring. And don't forget the rather delicious smell of muffins wafting through the house as you open the door and proudly unveil your bakes to the world… or maybe just your other half. Either way - they'll be appreciated.

Recipe
Adapted from Taste.com

60g butter
2 cups self-raising flour
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
2 ripe bananas, mashed
200g Chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 180c and bake for 15-20 minutes

I'd say these are actually more chocolate chip muffins with a hint of banana so if you'd like to go for the healthier option then definitely reduce the chocolate! I also find it better to just chop up whole bars instead of buying packets of chocolate chips - it's much cheaper and you get bigger chunks too ;)

  1. Pretty, although I must admit that I have never been one to lust after a Kitchen Aid, my Magimix however was a different story!
