Counting down

A festive natter
and some beautiful blooms

I haven’t been blogging much at all lately so I thought I’d just sit down and have a natter! The usual New Year resolution/reflection post will be coming up soon enough and I’ll spare the details for that one – let’s keep this post nice and positive! Can you believe Christmas is less than a week away? I feel like I’ve blinked and suddenly half of December has disappeared!

Work has been major stressful recently and I’ve lacked my usual festive mojo – though we bought our tree and put the decorations up last weekend so that’s definitely helped! I can’t think of anything better at the moment than coming home from work, switching on the Christmas tree lights and snuggling down on the sofa under a blanket while hogging the tin of celebrations :)

I’m hosting Christmas dinner on Sunday with some friends so that will be lovely. Whenever I think of a Christmas spread, a beautiful centrepiece is at the forefront of it all. You might remember I was sent a beautiful bunch of flowers back in October from Debenhams flowers and they’ve sent me another perfect Christmas bouquet this week too! I absolutely adore the jewel- tones of the roses and berrys in the Festive Rose & Tulips Bouquet – just look at those purple tulips! Tulips are definitely one of my favourite flowers and their beautiful colour just make the bouquet look so special and perfect for a special occasion. And judging by the last lot of fresh flowers from them, I know they’ll last really well until Sunday for our meal too. The team have shared a very generous 25% off for you guys if you enter ‘DFBLOG25’ at the checkout – whether you want to treat your house to some festive blooms or have these delivered as a gift (the last Christmas date for ordering is the 23rd December at 9pm for the last delivery date on the 24th – pretty perfect for all the last minute shoppers out there!)

I designed my annual Christmas card and popped a snap on my instagram, and it felt great to be creative again. I miss using my watercolours and using traditional media so it’s definitely on my list for next year to practice again!

I’m so very almost done for Christmas now – just a few more bits to get for the men in the family who are so hard to buy for! No doubt I’ll pop back in with you all again soon – hopefully with a bit more spark and a post full of dreams and resolutions for 2016. Let me know down below how you’re getting on with Christmas! Katie x

  1. Ahh this is the second blogger I've seen with a beautiful festive bouquet! They are so pretty, I love the berries (can't remember their official name!) Debenhams have done well! Alice xx

    1. I love them Alice! I always think of greenery as a table centrepiece but I think these are such a good, colourful alternative! P.S. I just looked and they're called hypericum berries! xxx
